Paris's 10th arrondissement is located on the Right Bank of the Seine River. This traditionally working-class arrondissement has recently become more cosmopolitan, welcoming over the past few years large waves of immigrants, mostly from Africa, India, Turkey and China. The 10th is attempting an economic restructuring. On the Rue d'Hauteville, the sons of furriers are taking up computing and multinational companies are setting up shop in the arrondissement. The population is growing younger and the Canal Saint-Martin is attracting numerous artists and designers. Principal monuments and sites: The Canal Saint-Martin, the Gare de l'Est railway station, the Gare du Nord railway station (Eurostar and Thalys), the Place de la République, the Boulevard de Strasbourg, the Rue Saint-Denis.
