Paris's 15th arrondissement is located on the Left Bank of the Seine River and dates from the capital's annexation of the towns of Vaugirard and Grenelle in 1860. This is Paris's most populous arrondissement. This especially large district stretches from the banks of the Seine at the Champs de Mars and the Beaugrenelle Towers all the way to the Porte de Plaine. The 15th arrondissement is home to Paris's Parc des Expositions (exhibition centre). Principal monuments and sites: the Hôpital Necker, the Palais des Sports, the Pont Mirabeau bridge, the Institut Pasteur, André Citroën Park, George Brassens Park, the Hôpital George Pompidou, etc.
